I knew from the moment I walked through the doors on bid day that I had found my second home. Moving over 2,000 miles away to a brand new city where I knew no one was intimidating, but it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Coming to Florida State and joining Phi Mu has been so rewarding. At home in Nevada, I was really involved in student government and was in charge of planning all of our school dances my junior and senior year. Now in Phi Mu, I’ve had the chance to carry my passion for event planning with me as the social chair assistant where I help plan all of our date functions and formals. I love being in a chapter where everyone is so encouraging and motivating when it comes to putting yourself out there and getting involved. Leaving behind all of my childhood friends was tough but the friendships that Phi Mu has already given me are for LIFE! It’s hard to imagine what my life was like before I met my sisters this past year. The laughs and experiences I’ve shared with them are so special to me and are truly memories I will cherish forever. I’ll never forget getting stuck in a rain storm with two of my sisters while heading up to Georgia to visit my hometown best friend’s college for the weekend. Getting to introduce my them to my friend from home made my heart so happy. I’m so grateful to be a part of such a genuine group of women that I know I can always count on. They all welcomed me with open arms and I can't wait to make even more memories with my sisters over the next few years. For any PNMs coming from out of state, joining a sorority not only allows you to get involved on campus, but also gives you a perfect home away from home!
